We are a Part P registered team that does one thing properly — rewiring homes across Brighton, Hove and the wider Sussex coast. No call-centre, no hard sell, just qualified electricians who turn up when they say they will and leave your home safer than they found it.
Plenty of electricians will take on a rewire between other jobs. We built Brighton Rewire around the rewire itself — the planning, the first fix, the making good and the certification — because it is the work we know best and the work most homeowners find the most daunting.
Between us the team has more than 25 years on the tools, most of it spent in the kind of older housing that fills Brighton & Hove: Victorian terraces in Hanover and Kemptown, Regency conversions along the seafront, and the inter-war semis that ring the city. That experience means fewer surprises once the floorboards come up, and a quote you can actually rely on.
Every rewire we complete is carried out to the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations and signed off with the right certification, so the paperwork stands up whether you are staying put, selling, or letting the property out.
A rewire means people in your home for several days, lifting floors and chasing walls. How we handle that matters as much as the wiring itself.
Every installation is designed and tested against BS 7671. If we spot something dangerous, we make it safe — we don't wire around it.
You get a clear written price before we start. Barring genuine unknowns we flag up front, the figure we quote is the figure you pay.
Dust sheets down, floors protected, and a proper clear-up at the end of every day. We treat your home the way we'd want ours treated.
Part P registered, work notified to Building Control, and every job handed over with the certification and guarantee to back it up.
Rewiring a 19th-century terrace is a different job to rewiring a new-build, and knowing the local building stock saves time, mess and money.
From lath-and-plaster walls and lifted parquet in the older parts of the city to the render and cavity walls further out, we've worked on most of what Brighton & Hove and the surrounding towns can throw at us. We plan cable routes to keep chasing and floor-lifting to the minimum, and we're honest when a wall isn't going to cooperate.
We cover the whole coast and the towns inland — Worthing, Shoreham and Lancing to the west, Lewes, Newhaven and Seaford to the east, and up through Burgess Hill, Haywards Heath and Crawley.
See all the areas we cover"We had our 1930s semi in Hove completely rewired. From the first visit the team were straight with us about what needed doing and what it would cost. They protected the floors, cleared up every evening and finished on the day they promised. The certificate came through the same week. Genuinely couldn't fault them."
