Before We Arrive

Planning Your Layout

Some of this you'll have thought through already; the rest we're happy to advise on at survey stage. Either way, it gets agreed before install day, not decided on the fly:

  • Where the consumer unit sits, and whether you need extras like surge protection
  • How many sockets you want, and exactly where in each room
  • Lighting style throughout the house, and how you want to switch it
  • External lighting and outdoor power points
  • Whether your shower or cooker needs a dedicated electrical supply
  • Smoke alarm positions — at minimum, one per floor and one in the kitchen
  • Power to any outbuildings, like a garage or garden shed
  • Extractor fans needed to meet building regulations

Install Day

What Happens on Rewire Day

A full rewire moves through the same broad stages whether you're in a Brighton terrace, a Hove flat or a Portslade semi — typically taking 2–5 days depending on the property. Here's what's actually happening at each one.
